The Philadelphia Eagles today announced their 2008 preseason opponents, highlighted by a nationally television contest vs. Carolina on FOX on Thursday, August 14.
The Eagles will open their preseason slate in Pittsburgh against the Steelers, who they will face for the sixth straight preseason. Free agent CB Asante Samuel will visit his former teammates in New England in week 3 of the preseason as the Eagles and Patriots will square off for the first time in the preseason since 2004.
The Eagles and New York Jets, who have met 23 times in the preseason over the last 23 years (they played twice in 1992 and did not face each other in 2000), will close their preseason schedules at Lincoln Financial Field.
