The Philadelphia Eagles today announced they have acquired RB Lorenzo Booker from the Miami Dolphins for a 2008 fourth round draft choice (115th overall selection).
A third round draft pick of Miami in 2007 (71st selection overall), Booker (5-10, 191) amassed 125 yards on 28 carries, and added 28 receptions for 237 yards in 7 games (1 start) for the Dolphins during his rookie campaign.
The 23-year-old Booker was a four-year letterman at Florida State, where he finished his career ranked 7th on the school’s all-time rushing list with 2,389 yards on 497 carries (4.8 avg.) and 15 touchdowns. Booker also caught 114 passes for 995 yards and two touchdowns during his collegiate career.
The Ventura, CA, native earned Parade All-America, Prep Star Dream Team, and USA Today All-USA first-team honors at Saint Boneventure High School, after rushing for 2,878 yards and 50 touchdowns during his senior season. Booker compiled California state records of 8,502 rushing yards and 137 touchdowns during his three-year career, leading his team to a combined 42-0 record.
