The UFC's top pay-per-view draw, former lightheavyweight champion Chuck Liddell, will miss the company's June 7 event in London with a torn right hamstring.
Liddell was scheduled to face Rashad Evans in the main event.Liddell reportedly wanted to train through the injury and make the fight but the injury was significant enough that he was advised against it.
"Unfortunately, Chuck Liddell tore his right hamstring during training last week, and being the warrior that he is, he still wanted to fight, which is the reason why everyone in the world loves him," said Dana White, UFC President. "But I wouldn't let anyone fight with his leg looking that way. Let him heal and come back and fight when he is 100 percent."
UFC hopes to name a replacement this week. Yahoo!Sports' Dave Meltzer has reported that James Irvin, who recently mowed through Houston Alexander, has been contacted to face Evans.
