The Philadelphia Eagles re-signed cornerback Joselio Hanson to a one-year contract Tuesday. Hanson had been a restricted free agent.
The 26-year-old Hanson joined the Eagles in 2006 after signing with the San Francisco 49ers as a rookie free agent in 2003. He played in all 16 games (four starts) in 2007, serving primarily as the team’s nickel cornerback and registered a career-high 45 tackles, adding a sack and a fumble recovery.
A graduate of Texas Tech and a native of Playa Del Ray, California, Hanson has played in 45 career games (eight starts), logging 99 tackles, two sacks, and 21 knockdowns.
The Birds were also awarded three compensatory draft picks for losing five players via free agency in 2007, Shawn Barber, Jeff Garcia, Roderick Hood, Michael Lewis, Donte’ Stallworth.
Philadelphia was awarded an extra pick at the end of the fourth round and two more at the bottom of the sixth round.
