Philadelphia 76ers President Billy King announced today that forward Shavlik Randolph has exercised the player option on his contract. Per team policy, terms of the contract are not disclosed.

In two seasons with the 76ers, the 6-foot-10, 240-pound forward has averaged 2.7 points and 2.7 rebounds in 70 games (7 starts). During the 2006-07 season, Randolph averaged 4.5 points and 4.2 rebounds, but saw his season cut short after he suffered a dislocated / fractured left ankle at practice on Nov. 30, 2006. An early-entry candidate for the 2005 NBA Draft out of Duke University, Randolph went un-drafted before signing with the Sixers on Aug. 5, 2005. The Sixers re-signed Randolph as a free agent on July 12, 2006.
