Moyer has been a constant

By Jared Trexler

At 44 years of age, it takes Jamie Moyer a little longer to get out of bed in the morning. It takes even longer to pry him off the mound.
Mixing 83 mph heaters with a floating change-up and diving off speed pitcher, Moyer has turned into the Phillies' stopper, posting a 9-1 record in starts following a loss since joining the club last season.
Instead of relying on Cole Hamels' bullet and deceptive lollipop, the Phillies have found themselves turning to another southpaw almost twice Hamels' age -- a pitcher that teaches on the mound while battering the young prodigy's ear with insight and intellect in-between starts.
