Eagles sign DT Willie Williams

With Trevor Laws still nursing a balky hamstring the Eagles needed another body at defensive tackle and signed Willie Williams on Saturday.

Originally a rookie free agent by St. Louis in 2008, the 24-year-old Williams (6-4, 305) signed to the Rams practice squad on October 13th and remained there for the duration of the 2008 season. He was released on July 30th.

A two-year letterman at Louisville, Williams played in 23 games (nine starts) and notched 41 tackles and 2.5 sacks. He transferred to Louisville in 2006 after a one-year stint at Georgia Military College, where he registered 35 tackles and three sacks. Williams also played one year at Hutchinson Community College in 2004.
