Mets relief pitcher Billy Wagner has been claimed on waivers by an unidentified team. The Mets now have three days to work out a deal with the team that claimed him. The Phils certainly have a need for a closer and the money to pay Wagner but it's hard to imagine they would want him in their locker room again.
Update: Ken Rosenthal of FoxSports.com reports that the Red Sox claimed Wagner. The two clubs have until 1pm ET on Tuesday to work out a deal.
Wagner on a possible reurn to Philly: "No. That [crap] was hard enough for two years. I can't imagine a month, coming off Tommy John."
