On how QB Michael Vick is physically and what he did:
“He did a little bit of scout team this morning and got a lift in this morning, and we’re just going to gradually bring him along and [offensive coordinator] Marty [Morninweg] will do some drills with him after practice is over and we’ll ease back into throwing the ball and then working the legs at the same time, conditioning-wise. So, he got a workout in this morning and then he also took the scout team for the 8/8 period this morning.”
On whether Vick will be in pads during tomorrow’s practice:
“Yeah, he’ll be in pads. He’ll do the same thing the team does and we’ll just go from there.”
On how he implements an offense with a new QB and specifically how he will do so with Vick:
“The fortunate thing is that he has played in this offense. And, [Seattle Seahawks] Coach [Jim] Mora was an assistant at
On whether Vick was practicing as strictly a QB:
“Today he was a quarterback. That’s what Michael is, Michael is a quarterback; I’m not trying to hide that from you, we moved people around every once in a while but, Michael is a quarterback.”
On whether Vick will travel to
“Normally I don’t do that. But, we’ll see how that goes and I might change that as we go.”
On whether the QBs will split snaps and whether he thinks that would disturb the flow of the game for QB Donovan McNabb:
“I wouldn’t do that. I wouldn’t mess with the flow of the game, nor Donovan. We’ve had a couple different people take snaps in our Wildcat package and it didn’t affect Donovan at all. So, there’s always that possibility that you could do something similar to that or there are a few combinations you can do. But first of all, you’ve got to get him into football shape and that’s the number one thing that we’ve got to do here.”
On who will be the second string QB:
“I mentioned this early is that, Kevin Kolb is the number two quarterback and that’s where we’re at right now. It wasn’t because he got the injury or anything, that’s not why we did this. Kevin has proven to this football team that he’s a good quarterback.”
On whether or not this will impact QB A.J. Feeley :
“We’ve just got to see as time goes on, but I wouldn’t say that.”
On how Vick will be used if Kolb is the second string QB:
“We’ll go through all that as we get closer and see how things play out here. The number one thing is that we get him back to where he feels comfortable and in playing shape. That’s where the focus is.”
