Moss almost an Eagle

Monday may have seemed like a quiet day on the Eagles front but things were simmering behind closed doors.

The Philadelphia Daily News' Les Bowen is reporting that Andy Reid spoke extensively with Pats WR Randy Moss on Monday, about the All-Pro signing with the Eagles. In fact, Bowen's source contended that the Eagles offered Moss more money than the $27 million over three years he accepted from New England.

Meanwhile, the Boston Herald reported that the talks actually took place all weekend and at one point the Eagles thought they had Moss locked up, until the receiver finally came to the decision that he was more comfortable with the Patriots and Tom Brady.

Moss isn't the only receiver on the Eagles' radar, however. Garry Cobb confirmed the Eagles offered CB Lito Sheppard and a second-round pick to the Arizona Cardinals for WR Larry Fitzgerald. "G" also confirmed the Cards aren't stupid and turned that down.

In a related note, WIP's Howard Eskin finally realized Joe Banner is a user and refused to spoon with the Eagles president last night.
