(The Phanatic Magazine) - I hope someone has taken away Joe Buck's belt and shoelaces today.
We certainly don't need two tragedies in one day.
The NFL already lost one of the greatest people that ever lived Tuesday when Lord Favre finally...mercifully...called it a career.
Sarcasm aside...No one loves the overrated Favre more than the equally overrated Buck, and losing the world's most overexposed play-by-play announcer to depression in the same day would be a devastating blow to Roger Goodell and Company.
So Buck, like most of Wisconsin, is on suicide watch after the childish Favre threw a tantrum while pining for Randy Moss.
Evidently saving his career, which is exactly what Donald Driver and Greg Jennings did last year, wasn't good enough for the haughty one. Only the best in the game is good enough for Favre and his revisionist mind.
I'm sure in Brett's world, it was his receivers fault that the game's toughest and grittiest player (according to his lemmings) couldn't overcome a bad case of the sniffles in the NFC Championship Game.
So Favre is walking off into the sunset and heading back to Mississippi as one of the greatest of all-time.
And give the guy credit -- He did do everything great...He was a great quarterback before he outlived his shelf live five years ago...He was great at holding the Packers hostage...He was great at ignoring his team's game plans...Heck, he was even great at vicodin addiction.
And now he will finally give a generation of Green Bay receivers the opportunity to play with greatness.
You see, Driver and Jennings are a lot like Moss. Just like Randy, they dream of playing with a quarterback like Tom Brady too.
