Jermain Taylor exercised a contract option for a rematch with Kelly Pavlik.
"We welcome the rematch - the date will be either Jan. 23 or Feb. 16," Top Rank promoter Bob Arum said in an e-mailed statement. "The contract indicates the weight will be 166."
The first fight saw Pavlik take the world middleweight title by scoring a seventh-round technical knockout on Sept. 29 in Atlantic City.
