Scott charged with rape, assault

Penn State running back Austin Scott was arraigned Friday and charged with a litany of felonies including rape, sexual assault and two counts of aggravated indecent assault.

According to the Centre Daily Times, Scott also faces misdemeanor charges of simple assault and indecent assault in response to an alleged attack on a women at his apartment in the early morning hours on October 5.

Scott was released on $50,000 unsecured bail and ordered to stay away from the alleged victim.
A preliminary hearing in the case was scheduled for October 17.

Scott has rushed for 302 yards and a team-leading six touchdowns this season, but has fumbled in several big situations, including a late-game fumble in the 13-9 loss at Michigan.
