Lindros set to retire; wants to join NHLPA

TSN Canada is reporting that former Flyers star Eric Lindros is set to retire and acknowledged an interest in the newly created position of NHLPA ombudsman, the principal liaison between the players and their leader.

Lindros told TSN that his playing career is behind him with too many health issues to entertain the notion of a return.

I personally would like to see him keep playing but definitely the health risk is greater than any potential returns. Sounds like Lindros has found a new niche - players seemed to have responded well to his work and suggestions within the NHLPA realm.
