Contrary to local speculation, a few other teams are involved in the Roy Halladay sweepstakes. The latest team in the mix is the Milwaukee Brewers, the same club that played the rent-a-player game so well last year with CC Sabathia.
Tom Haudricourt of The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel spoke to the Brewers GM Doug Melvin, who confirmed that he did have a conversation with Toronto, but wouldn't go into details.
Meanwhile, Bill Shaikin of The LA Times reports that the Angels have pursued Halladay as well, but "club officials are not confident they can satisfy the Blue Jays in a trade."
