Former Owl Dupree again starting in WNBA All-Star game

PHILADELPHIA - For the third-consecutive season, former Temple Owl Candace Dupree will be representing the WNBA's Chicago Sky in the 2009 All-Star Game at the Mohegan Sun Arena on Saturday, July 25.

Dupree, the second leading vote getter among forwards in the Eastern Conference (59,494), will be joining Sky teammate Sylvia Fowles on the court for the opening tip. This marks the first time in either woman's career that they were voted starters by the fans.

The former first round pick leads the Sky with 15.8 ppg, recently posting a season-high 28 points against Seattle Storm last week. A starter of all 14 games this season, Dupree also leads the team in minutes played, averaging 33.7 per outing.

The WNBA All-Star Game is set to air on ABC, with the broadcast beginning on July 25, at 3:30 p.m.
