Previous outdoor NHL games were staged in Chicago, Edmonton and Buffalo.
"A unique event deserves a unique venue and we are delighted the Bruins and Flyers will renew their rivalry with the "Green Monster" providing the backdrop," NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman said.
The game is a rematch of the 1974 Stanley Cup finals, when the Flyers beat Boston to claim their first NHL title.
"This is an exciting opportunity to open the ballpark to fans, neighbors, and the city," Red Sox owner John Henry said. "We can't wait to see Fenway Park full of people and energy in December and January."
