Yesterday's Fedor Emelianenko press conference in Los Angeles was a dud and centered on the fact that Fedor will be a headliner in the new EA Sports video game.
UFC president Dana White has said that anyone who is in the EA game with the exception of Randy Couture, will never fight in UFC.
The LA Times' Lance Pugmire now says intense negotiations between the fighter and UFC are still taking place but nothing will be done by Friday when White has a press conference scheduled to announce a few former Affliction fighters like Ben Rothwell will now be under the UFC banner. A possible television deal with ESPN is also a possibility.
However, YAHOO! Sports' Dave Meltzer, who is as plugged in as it gets, says two different sources have told him negotiations between UFC and Fedor have fallen through again.
Fedor's people also continue to insist he would not fight unless it was a co-promotion with M-1 Global, something that has been a deal-breaker for White in the past.
