Lidell hits the Links

Lake Tahoe, NV - Mixed Martial Arts star Chuck Liddell hit the golf links for the first time at the American Century Championship celebrity golf tournament in Tahoe, NV this week with friend and Fox Sports NFL analyst Jay Glazer as his caddy.

Liddell, more notorious for knocking people out than knocking shots stiff, took to the course for the Celeb-Am on Thursday and will play his first round of the tournament on Friday. Glazer caddied on Thursday, but lasted only two holes before getting help carrying the bag from some spectators. Glazer stayed on the course and tracked down Liddell’s stray drives, giving advice where he could, and will remain on Liddell's bag the rest of the weekend.

“He’s gotten a little better in just the two days,” said Glazer on Friday from the driving range.

“I predict Chuck will have four knockouts today (Friday),” Glazer added. “Not with his fists, but with his stray drives.”

Liddell, most likely the least experienced golfer at the event, is taking the experience in stride.

“I’ve been playing golf for about three weeks,” Liddell admitted on driving range.

Liddell will be teeing off with poker star Daniel Negreanu and NBA star Jason Kidd on Friday.

Liddell can be seen playing in the tournament during NBC’s live coverage of the event Saturday, July 18 and Sunday, July 19 from 3-6 p.m. (ET). Other stars taking part in the event include Michael Jordan, Charles Barkley, Dan Marino, John Elway, Wayne Gretzky, Mario Lemieux and more.
