Lidge has surgery

The Phillies say closer Brad Lidge underwent successful surgery on Wednesday to repair his flexor pronator tendon in his right elbow as well as a loose body removed.

Lidge should be back throwing within eight weeks.

"Brad could be one to two weeks behind in Spring Training, but, overall, we feel very good about his recovery time," general manager Ruben Amaro Jr. said in a statement. "We're hopeful that he will be ready close to Opening Day."‬
