Eagles - Cowboys Notebook

*K David Akers connected on 45-, 48-, and 52-yard field goals and now has 10 field goals of 40-plus yards on the season, which leads the NFL. His career high for a season is 17 set in 2004. It was the second time in 2009 that Akers made three 40-plus-yarders in the same game (10/18/09 at Oakland), and the fifth time (including playoffs) in his career. No other kicker in team history has even accomplished that feat once … Akers’ 52-yarder was the longest since hitting a 53-yard field goal on 9/30/07 at NYG.

*After CB Sheldon Brown’s interception of Tony Romo, the Eagles defense now has at least one in seven of eight games this season. They have 15 on the year (compared to 15 in 2008 and 11 in 2007) from seven different players … Brown registered his fourth of the season, tying his career high set in 2005. He and Asante Samuel are the first pair of Eagles cornerbacks with four-plus interceptions in a season since 1999 (Troy Vincent – 7; Al Harris – 4; Bobby Taylor – 4).

*The Eagles defense added four more sacks last night (DE Juqua Parker, DE Jason Babin, DE Trent Cole, and S Sean Jones each had one), and now has 27 this season, which trails only Minnesota (31) for the NFL lead … Parker’s sack was his fourth in 2009 and the 20th of his Eagles career, moving past Mike Pitts (19.5) and into 18th place in team history … Babin has brought down the opposing quarterback in three straight games, which is the longest streak of his career … Cole ranks sixth in the NFL with 7.5 on the season … Jones’ sack was his first as an Eagle.

*RB LeSean McCoy had a career-high in scrimmage yards (115) and led the team with 5 catches for a career-high 61 yards … TE Brent Celek caught his fourth touchdown of the season, tying WR DeSean Jackson for the team lead.

*S Quintin Mikell played in his 100th regular season game … Rookie LB Moise Fokou made his first NFL start, becoming the fifth Eagle to do so this year (Kevin Kolb, Jeremy Maclin, LeSean McCoy, Macho Harris) … QB Donovan McNabb’s first-quarter interception was the Eagles’ first turnover in the first half this season.
