*The Eagles 23-point margin of victory was the largest over the Giants since winning 24-0 on 12/1/96 at Veterans Stadium … The Eagles 40 points was the highest total against the Giants since scoring 47 in a win on 11/22/92 at Giants Stadium.
*QB Donovan McNabb completed 17 of 23 passes for 240 yards and three touchdowns for a 146.7 rating, the fifth-highest of his career (highest against the Giants). The Eagles are 42-1 when his rating exceeds 100 (2-0 in 2009). For the season, McNabb has thrown nine touchdowns and only one interception.
*WR DeSean Jackson caught a 54-yard touchdown from McNabb in the second quarter. All six of Jackson’s touchdowns this season have been 50-plus yards (85-yard punt return; 71-yard reception; 64-yard reception; 67-yard rush; 57-yard reception; 54-yard reception), tying the team record of six set by Timmy Brown in 1962. He is now two shy of the NFL record owned by Elroy “Crazy Legs” Hirsch (1951) and Devin Hester (2007).
*FB Leonard Weaver scored on a 41-yard touchdown rush, the longest carry of his career and the longest run by an Eagles fullback since Anthony Toney’s 44-yarder on 10/8/89 vs. NYG … Weaver finished the game with a career-high 75 yards … RB LeSean McCoy scored his second-career touchdown on a 66-yard run, the longest by an Eagles rookie since Herman Hunter’s 74-yard touchdown run on 11/24/85 at Dallas … It was also the first time in team history that different players scored 40-plus yard rushing touchdowns in the same game.
*The Eagles have scored a touchdown on their opening drive in four of their seven games this season (3-1 record in those games) … TE Brent Celek and WR Jeremy Maclin each caught their third touchdowns of the season … The offense converted three takeaways to 17 points … The Eagles have scored 27-or-more points in five games this season (30-plus in four games) … McNabb’s fumble in the third quarter was the offense’s first giveaway since the fourth quarter of the game on 9/27 vs. KC, a span of 46 possessions. The Eagles have yet to commit a turnover in the first half this season.
*The defense has held opponents to 17-or-fewer points in six of seven games this season … The Eagles defense now has 14 interceptions this season (compared to 15 in 2008 and 11 in 2007) from seven different players. They also have seven fumble recoveries and 23 sacks in 2009.
*CB Asante Samuel notched his fifth interception of the season, surpassing last season’s total of four, and marking the highest single-season total by an Eagle since Lito Sheppard’s six in 2006. Samuel’s teams are 28-4 (including postseason) when he intercepts a pass.
*K David Akers had his consecutive PAT streak snapped at a team record 171. His last missed PAT came on 12/19/04 on a block by Dallas’s Greg Ellis … DE Jason Babin notched his second sack in as many games … DT Antonio Dixon picked up his first-career sack … S Quintin Demps registered his first-career interception.
