It looks like Sixers coach Eddie Jordan will be demoting the $80 million dollar man to the second team.
With Mo Speights out for 6-to-8 weeks, conventional wisdom had Elton Brand getting one last shot to prove he could contribute. Instead it looks like Jason Smith will be elevated to the starting lineup along with Rodney Carney.
Carney certainly deserves a chance. He's athletic enough to help with perimeter defense and has a decent 3-point shot.
However, Jordan continues to use the NBA regular season as a training camp and that's not acceptable.
I wonder if Tony DiLeo wants a second chance.
