The Sixers waived guard Sean Singletary and forward/center Stromile Swift Monday.
Singletary (6-0, 185) appeared in one game for a total of 10 minutes this preseason for the Sixers. In a combined 37 games with two starts as a rookie for the Suns and Bobcats last season, Singletary averaged 2.4 points in 8.2 minutes per game. The Philadelphia native was a four-year starter at Virginia and left as the only player in ACC history to record 2,000 points, 500 assists, 400 rebounds and 200 steals.
Swift (6-10, 220) missed the Sixers first three preseason games with a strained left hamstring. The nine-year veteran entered the league as the second overall pick in the 2000 NBA Draft by the Vancouver Grizzlies. In 547 career games with 97 starts, Swift has averaged 8.4 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.25 blocks in 19.8 minutes per game
