The Eagles have traded WR Brandon Gibson and 2010 5th round pick to the St. Louis Rams for LB Will Witherspoon.
Witherspoon natural position is will linebacker but he can also play the mike and will likely take over for Omar Gaither and Jeremiah Trotter as the starter when he is acclimated.
It's a good deal since Witherspoon is also an upgrade over Akeem Jordan. He is signed through 2011 at $5 million per year and can move back to the weak side next season when Stewart Bradley returns.
