Bad week for Christmas; bad night for Speights

Just two days after being cut by the Sixers former Temple star Dionte Christmas was arrested on Thursday night during a traffic stop in North Philadelphia.

Police say Christmas was driving a car with heavily tinted windows when he was stopped on Nedro Avenue near Broad Street, in the Fern Rock section of the city. The shooting guard was driving without license and was in possession of a handgun.

The car and gun are owned by Sixers second-year forward Marreese Speights, however. Christmas had a passenger in the car with himbut Philadelphia police refused to confirm it was Speights.

Speights was at the team's shootaround at St. John's this morning but did not talk to the media.
