Dawkins should be ready for opener

Veteran free safety Brian Dawkins should be ready for the season opener in two weeks against St. Louis. An MRI exam on Dawkins' right ankle Saturday revealed a mild tendon strain.

Dawkins was injured in the second quarter of Friday's preseason game against New England.

"Brian is feeling better, particularly better than he did during the game and after the game, so it’s not quite as bad as what we thought," head coach Andy Reid said. "That is an ankle strain. I believe so. It’s really a day-to-day situation right now.”

Reid also addressed the team's other injuries before Sunday's ptactice: "[WR] Reggie [Brown] with the hamstring strain. He is getting better, but it looks like he will not play this week and will not practice this week. [WR] Kevin Curtis. [C] Jamaal [Jackson] will not practice today with a mild concussion. [K/P] Richmond McGee has a little back spasms still and [RB] Ryan Moats has a high ankle sprain and will not practice today.”
