Soul to face Dragons in playoffs

The Philadelphia Soul will face the New York Dragons on Saturday, July 5 at 7 p.m. at the Wachovia Center after the sixth-seeded Dragons stunned the third-seeded Dallas Desperados, 77-63, in Dallas on Friday night.

New York QB Aaron Garcia was 28 of 39 for 330 yards and nine touchdowns and WR Kevin Swayne had eight catches for 77 yards and four touchdowns in the win.

Philadelphia swept the two-game season series from New York, most recently handing the Dragons a 59-30 defeat in the regular-season finale for both teams last Sunday in New York. Earlier this season, the Soul downed New York, 63-42, at the Wachovia Center.

The Soul ended the regular season 13-3 and earned the top seed in the National Conference after posting the best record in the Arena Football League.
