The Philadelphia Soul signed quarterback Glen Gauntt, defensive back Nick Ward and signed defensive back Serge Sejour to the practice squad on Thursday.
Gauntt was first signed by the Soul on May 9th after Tony Graziani was placed on the injured reserve after suffering a leg injury. When Graziani returned, Gauntt was released on May 23 until his eventual re-signing. Gauntt’s only action this season for the Soul came against the Columbus Destroyers when Matt D’Orazio had his wind knocked out for one play.
Gauntt is expected to be in uniform and backup D’Orazio this weekend when the Soul host the Cleveland Gladiators at 7 p.m. (et) at the Wachovia Spectrum.
Ward was released by the Soul on Monday, only to re-sign on Thursday. He was originally signed on May 9, 2008 and played in three games, totaling three tackles.
Before coming to the Soul, Ward played for Kansas City, Columbus, Georgia, the Carolina Cobras and the Florida Bobcats.
The Soul also placed linebacker Craig Kobel on injured reserve Thursday.
