76ers' Booth exercises option

Philadelphia 76ers big man Calvin Booth has exercised the player option on his contract last Friday. Per team policy, terms of the contract were not disclosed.

The Penn State product signed as a free agent with the Sixers in September of last year and appeared in 31 games in 2007-08, averaging 0.8 points, 1.2 rebounds and 0.58 blocks in 6.6 minutes per game.

Booth averaged 4.24 blocks per 48 minutes played last season, which was the 11th highest average by any player in the league. He recorded four of his season-high five blocks in the first quarter vs. Miami on December 12, 2007.
