The Philadelphia Soul clinched a playoff spot on Saturday when the Cleveland Gladiators lost to the Dallas Desperados, 68-52.
This is the third straight season the Soul have qualified for the postseason. In each of the previous two seasons the Soul won their first game only to lose in the next round.
Positioning in the playoffs is still yet to be determined. The Soul are on a bye this week and take on the Eastern Division –leading Dallas Desperados on Saturday, June 7 at 8 p.m. (et) at American Airlines Center.
The Soul (10-3) trail the Desperados (11-2) by one game in the standings. With just three regular-season game left, the matchup will likely go a long way in determining the eventual division winner and who will have homefield advantage throughout the conference playoffs. Philadelphia already defeated Dallas earlier this season, 57-28, at the Wachovia Spectrum.
