The Philadelphia Inquirer's Marc Narducci reports that the Sixers may be interested in signing 7-foot power forward Darko Milicic.
The Orlando Magic pulled their qualifying offer to Milicic on Tuesday and he is now an unrestricted free agent.
"We've been on top of the [Milicic] situation from the beginning and we have been in contact with his agent and we'll see how it plays out," Sixers' senior vice president Tony DiLeo told the newspaper.
Because the Sixers were over the salary cap last season, the most they can offer Milicic is the $5.5 million midlevel exception.
"Obviously, teams under the cap have an advantage in a situation like this," DiLeo added.
The 22-year old Milicic averaged eight points and 5.5 rebounds for the Magic last season.
