Good news, bad news -- an equal share of both in the spirit of the .500 mark.
Good news: Tom Gordon threw 17 pitches for Class A Clearwater yesterday. He reached 92 on the gun, threw his curveball for strikes, and didn't allow a run. He is scheduled to throw again Saturday.
Bad news: Gordon is not expected back until sometime after the break, and even then, he'll be eased back into the setup or closer's role. So, Phillies fans may not see him make an impact until late July/early August.
Good news: Brett Myers is scheduled to throw a bullpen session today, a sign that he has not suffered any major setbacks.
Bad news: He reportedly has at least one more bullpen session left, then will be given a rehab assignment. That pushes his availability back to late July, and similarly, Myers is not expected to be just thrust back into the closer's role.
Result: The Phillies bullpen will remain pretty much as it is now, barring trades, for possibly another month.
