Eagles sign Abiamiri

The Philadelphia Eagles agreed to terms with defensive end Victor Abiamiri on a four-year contract Sunday.

A second-round draft choice from Notre Dame (57th overall), Abiamiri (6-4, 267) was named the school's defensive lineman of the year for the second consecutive season as a senior in 2006. He led the Irish in sacks (10.5) and tackles for a loss (15). His 10.5 sacks ranked second on the school's all-time list.

In 49 career games, the 21-year-old Abiamiri registered 128 tackles, 40 tackles for a loss, 20.5 sacks, 21 hurries and three forced fumbles.

Abiamiri is the seventh member of the Eagles 2007 draft class to sign, joining Stewart Bradley, Tony Hunt, C.J. Gaddis, Brent Celek, Rashard Barksdale, and Nate Ilaoa.
