GLENDALE, ARIZONA --- Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney announced today that the Coyotes have signed left wing Mike York to a one-year contract. As per club policy, terms of the contract were not disclosed.
York, 29, registered 10-11-21 and 22 penalty minutes (PIM) in 66 games with the Philadelphia Flyers and New York Islanders last season. York collected 6-7-13 and 14 PIM in 32 games with the Islanders last season before Philadelphia acquired him for Randy Robitaille and a fifth round selection in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft on Dec. 20, 2006. The 5-foot-10, 185-pound native of Waterford, Michigan then recorded 4-4-8 and 8 PIM in 34 games with the Flyers.
For his NHL career, York has posted 121-187-308 and 131 PIM in 515 games with the New York Rangers, Edmonton Oilers, Islanders, and Philadelphia.
