Hopkins takes unanimous decision from Wright

The 42-year old Bernard Hopkins retained his Ring magazine light heavyweight title Saturday night at Las Vegas' Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino by winning a unanimous decision over Winky Wright. The Philadelphia native opened a deep cut over Wright's left eye in the third round and cruised from there.

The judges all favored Hopkins with Glen Hamada scoring the fight 116-112 and Dave Moretti and Glenn Trowbridge both scoring it 117-111.

"I thought it was a real tough fight," said Hopkins. "Winky's tough. He kept coming. But it was a great performance. I'm back."
