Donovan McNabb (cracked ribs) was listed as doubtful in the final Eagles' injury report before Sunday's home opener with the New Orleans Saints. McNabb hasn't practiced at all this week and will not play but Andy Reid is trying a little Eric Mangini like trickery. "[McNabb] is more than capable of playing and playing well without the benefit of practice," Reid said earlier in the week. Backup Kevin Kolb will get his first start in McNabb's absence.
Three other Eagles have already been listed as "out for the game, left guard Todd Herremans, free safety Quintin Demps and linebacker Joe Mays.
Meanwhile, after shutting down Shawn Andrews for the season earlier this week, Reid has benched his brother. Stacy Andrews confirmed he is healthy but will not be starting at right guard. Max Jean-Gilles will start and rotate with Andrews, who has struggled with pass protection.
