Eagles - Saints by the numbers wrapup

QB Kevin Kolb completed 31 of 51 passes for 391 yards and two touchdowns in his first-career start. His 391 yards was the 12th-highest total in team history and the most by an Eagle since Donovan McNabb threw for 464 on 12/4/04 vs. Green Bay. It was also the highest yardage total ever for an Eagles quarterback in his first NFL start.

WR DeSean Jackson caught a 71-yard touchdown, the longest of his career. He also finished the game with 101 receiving yards, marking his third-career 100-yard game.

TE Brent Celek led the team with eight receptions and 104 yards, marking his second-career 100-yard game. His eight catches set a regular-season career high, and it was his third-straight game (including postseason) leading the team in receptions.

With Jackson and Celek each eclipsing 100 receiving yards for the day, it was the second-straight home opener featuring two 100-yard receivers (9/7/08 vs. St. Louis – Hank Baskett, 102; Greg Lewis, 104; DeSean Jackson, 106). The last time the Eagles had a receiver and a tight end each surpassing 100 yards in the same game was on 9/18/05 vs. San Francisco (LJ Smith, 119; Terrell Owens, 143) .. The Eagles offense moved the ball well, racking up 463 yards of total offense and 23 first downs … WR Jason Avant tallied a career-high seven receptions for 79 yards, including two third down conversions and a touchdown catch on fourth down.

DE Trent Cole notched his second sack in as many games. With 36.5 career sacks, he moved past William Fuller (35.5) and into seventh place in team history. He trails Seth Joyner (37.5) for sixth and Andy Harmon (40.0) for fifth.

LB Akeem Jordan notched an interception for the second-straight game. The last Eagles linebacker with two interceptions in the same season was Ike Reese in 2004 … DE Juqua Parker posted his 22nd career sack and his seventh-career FF.

K David Akers played in his 158th regular season game as an Eagle, passing Guy Morriss and moving into sixth place on the team’s all-time list … RB Brian Westbrook played in his 101st game, moving past Wilbert Montgomery and into third place in team history among running backs. He trails Tom Woodeshick (111) and Keith Byars (105).
