Phils to sign Dugan today

The Phillies are set to sign outfielder Kelly Dugan, their second-round pick in this week's amateur player draft, to a professional contract today.

The 6-3, 205-pound Dugan, who went to Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks, Calif., is the son of film director Dennis Dugan.

Dugan, 18, will forgo a baseball scholarship to Pepperdine University in Malibu, Calif to sign with the Fightins.

A centerfielder, who also played some first base, Dugan hit .379 with a team-high 35 RBI, 13 doubles and eight homers in only 95 at-bats this year.
