The Sixers have signed center Kwame Brown to a one-year, $3 million dollar with a player option for a second year.
Brown, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2001 NBA draft, averaged 6.3 points and 6.4 rebounds for the Warriors last season but was limited to just nine games because of a torn pectoral muscle.
A 6-foot-11, 270-pound Brown is generally considered a bust in NBA circles and has averaged just 6.8 points on 49 percent shooting and 5.6 rebounds in 11 NBA seasons for the Wizards, Lakers, Grizzlies, Pistons, Bobcats and Warriors.
He is, however, an excellent low post defender and figures to make the Sixers much tougher inside.
