UFC 101 medical suspensions

A number of mandatory medical suspensions were issued by the Pennsylvania State Athletic Commission following Saturday's, "UFC 101: Declaration" card at the Wachovia Center.

Six fighters, including headliners Kenny Florian and Forrest Griffin, have been sidelined.

Florian must serve a 45-day suspension for precautionary reasons and undergo a CT scan of his facial bones after dropping his lightweight title bout to B.J. Penn.

Griffin will be serving a 30-day suspension for precautionary reasons after suffering a irst-round TKO loss to UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva in a non-title fight at 205 pounds.

Griffin raced out of the cage and skipped a routine post-fight doctor's examination after the loss. Rumors have swirled that Griffin suffered a dislocated or broken jaw but that has not been confirmed by the UFC.

Tamdan McCrory, who fell to John Howard in a three-rounder on the night's preliminary card, must take a full eye exam and get doctor's clearance before returning to the cage.

Also serving precautionary 30-day suspensions are Amir Sadollah, who suffered a 29-second KO loss to Johnny Hendricks; Dan Cramer, who suffered cuts above his left eye in a decision loss to Matthew Riddle; and Danillo Villefort, who also suffered facial cuts in a third-round TKO defeat to Jesse Lennox.
