Philadelphia, Pa. - Aug. 4, 2009 - The Philadelphia 76ers will tip-off the 2009-10 regular season on Wednesday, October 28 at Orlando before returning for their home-opener at the Wachovia Center on Friday, October 30 at 7:00pm against the Milwaukee Bucks.
The 2009-10 regular season schedule features several fan- and family-friendly dates, including 15 Friday night home dates and three Saturday dates -- including a special 1:00pm matinee on Saturday, April 3 against Toronto. The team’s longest home stand of the season will span five games over 10 days, starting December 7 with a 7:00pm game against Denver and concluding on December 16 at 7:00pm vs. Cleveland.
The Sixers will play 20 sets of back-to-back games in 2009-10, including six sets before the end of November. The team will also have completed nearly half their road schedule (19 games) by January 3.
Additionally, the Sixers will also face three Eastern Conference opponents from outside the Atlantic Division only three-times: Cleveland (2 home, 1 road), Indiana (1 home, 2 road) and Washington (1 home, 2 road).
The Sixers are now accepting deposits for all partial plans, which will be announced in the near future and will feature an exciting selection of home dates. Among the highlights from the Sixers 2009-10 home schedule:
- Lower Marion product Kobe Bryant and the L.A. Lakers makes their annual appearance on Friday, January 29 at 7:00pm.
- LeBron James, Shaquille O’Neal and the Cleveland Cavaliers come to the Wachovia Center on Wednesday, December 16 at 7:00pm and Friday, March 12 at 7:00pm.
- The Celtics/Sixers rivalry reignites with two match-ups: The first one on Tuesday, Nov. 3 and the second on Friday, March 5, both games at 7:00pm.
- The Orlando Magic bring the trio of Dwight Howard, Rashard Lewis and Vince Carter to Philadelphia on Monday, March 1 and Monday, March 22, both games at 7:00pm.
- During the Sixers annual West Coast trip this upcoming holiday season, the newest Disney On Ice winter show takes over the Wachovia Center from Wednesday, December 23 through Sunday, January 3.
The Sixers complete television and radio schedule for the 2009-10 season will be released at a future date.
