Dynamic second-year receiver DeSean Jackson had to leave practice on a cart this morning with what is being called a hyperextended right knee. Right now it looks day-to-day but the Eagles aren't exactly the most trustworthy bunch in the world.
And to those that have asked, yeah I'm poking the bear and calling DJack's agent without the expressed written consent of the organization.
Update: Jackson seems o.k. Told 950's Brian Seltzer: "I'm alright. No problems," after practice. He did have a sleeve on his right leg.
Also, the Birds were working out a number of tight ends since rookie Cornelius Ingram and Matt Schobel are both down with injuries. Ingram, the rookie out of Florida, is done for the year after an MRI revealed a torn ACL.
The Eagles today eventually signed tight end Rob Myers and made room by releasing punter Ken Parrish.
Myers (6-3, 243) was signed by the New York Jets as a rookie free agent following the 2009 draft but was released on May 29.
The 23-year-old Myers earned the starting role at tight end during his sophomore season at Utah State and, as a junior, ranked second on the team in both receptions (21) and yards (320). His 15.2 yards/per catch average that year was tops among all collegiate tight ends. He was also named the John Mackey national tight end of the week on November 21, 2007, after racking up 117 yards and two touchdowns on four catches against New Mexico State. After earning multiple All-WAC honors during the 2008 preseason, Myers missed his entire senior season due to a turf toe injury that required surgery.
A native of Bellaire, TX, just outside of Houston, Myers lettered three years as a wide receiver at Bellaire High School. He will wear jersey number 85 and is expected to be on the field for Sunday morning’s practice.
