Birds officially lose Smith

The Baltimore Ravens officially signed free-agent tight end L.J. Smith on Friday.

Terms of the contract were not released, but the Baltimore Sun reported it was a one year deal worth $1.5 million.

Smith, 28, has spent his entire six-year career with the Eagles, compiling 231 receptions for 2,525 yards and 18 touchdowns.

The signing reunites Smith with Ravens head coach John Harbaugh, who had served as an assistant on Philadelphia’s coaching staff.
