Green Akers Is The Place To Be

David Akers' 38-yard field goal, out of the hold of Phanatic favorite and recently signed Koy Detmer, sent the Philadelphia Eagles to the Big Easy.
While for the New York Giants, it began an offseason that will be anything BUT Easy.

The Eagles didn't play their best football, but a 23-20 victory at Lincoln Financial Field sets up a Saturday night showdown at the Superdome with Drew Brees, Reggie Bush and the New Orleans Saints in a NFC Divisional Playoff.

Michael Rushton notes that you can't discredit a perfect match, even if it's between a kicker and his holder. Fellow staff writer Jared Trexler adds his two cents from the Sunday afternoon tussle at the Linc, heaping praise on Brian Westbrook and throwing blame at official Pete Morelli and a pair of New York crybabies.

Trexler also notes the career of New York Giants running back Tiki Barber in an unusual way, drawing comparisons to The O.C.

Who is not coaching where? Ken Whisenhunt isn't in Atlanta because he says NO, according to The Phanatic. Larry Brown speaks music to Mo Cheeks' ears, explaining that a 66-year-old fresh off unemployment isn't interested in a return to the bench.

Find some of these very links and others in tomorrow's edition of "The Phanatic Front Page," which debuts tomorrow at 9:30 a.m. (et) and can be found every morning on this page.
