Eagles ink Aussie punter

The Philadelphia Eagles today announced they have signed P Saverio Rocca.

A veteran of the Australian Football League, the 33-year-old Rocca (6-5, 243) played in 257 career games and scored 748 goals in his 15-year career with the Collingwood Magpies and the North Melbourne Kangaroos. After debuting in 1992 for Collingwood, Rocca was the team’s leading goalkicker from 1993-1999. Rocca was drafted by North Melbourne in 2000 and played with the Kangaroos through the 2006 season, leading the team in goals from 2001-02 and in 2004.

Rocca was born in Lakeside , Australia on November 20, 1973. This will be his first time playing with an NFL team.
