Stockpile players and hope someone sticks. That seems to be the outfield philosophy of Phillies General Manager Pat Gillick. The club reached a preliminary agreement with outfielder Karim Garcia on Monday night.
The former New York Yankee played the last two seasons in Japan. He chose the Phillies over the Colorado Rockies due in part to the possibility of more playing time.
