Vick press conference

Tony Dungy arrived at the NovaCare Complex in a limousine. Shockingly no protesters. There were three at the South Jersey's Women Center on my way to the office this morning.

Well over 100 reporters at Nova Care.

It's Dungy, Vick Andy Reid and then owner Jeff Lurie.

Dungy: "I'm excited for Mike, I am happy for him"

Dungy: "The Eagles showed "Christian forgiveness." (Try Mormon forgiveness.)

Vick: "I would like to express my gratification to Jeffrey Lurie and Coach Andy Reid for making me a part of this organization. " (Translation -- Thank God there are idiots lefts in the world.)

Vick: "I want to send special thanks to Donovan McNabb. " (Translation - I'll be starting by Week 8.)

Vick: "I want to be part of the solution, not the problem."

Vick: "I'm considering this my first year."

Vick: "I'm just trying to do whatever I can to succeed and help this team with the Superbowl"

Vick: "I was wrong. Everything I did at that point in my life was wrong" (because I got caught)

Vick: "I think everybody deserves a second chance. We all have issues." (Thankfully my issues only involve Advil and a free-loading brother.)

Vick: "I think my actions will speak louder than my words."(Ladies load up on Valtrex)

Vick: "I knew it was wrong. I have to deal with the shame and embarrassment"

Reid: “We all know what kind of a football player Mike is and was and will be. Mike has aggressively attacked the issue he has been confronted with. He has been proactive and sincere.”

Reid: "I think the majority of the public wants Michael to do well."

BTW...when asked about
fired employee that blogged about Brian Dawkins not getting a second chance like Vick, Reid dismissed the questioner. This may be the most hypocritical organization in sports and that's saying something.

Vick will wear Ron Jaworkski's No. 7 -- just another backhanded blow to longtime fans.

Lurie: This took a lot of soul searching for me. I'm a dog lover.

Lurie: "Sometimes in life you have to make extremely and soul searching decisions where there's no right answer"

Lurie: "We regard it as horrific behavior."

Lurie said he had two dogs die recently and recently rescued two dogs from a shelter for abused dogs. (I believe he was nominated for Sainthood last week.)

Lurie: "I felt the self-hatred from Michael. He's going to have to be absolutely committed to be proactive."

Lurie:
"If we don’t have an extremely proactive player off the field, then this is a terrible decision."
