Report: Eagles add LB Wilhelm

Checked my handbook given on covering the Eagles given to me by Andy Reid and I believee I can report that The San Diego Union-Tribune is saying the Eagles have added linebacker Matt Wilhelm.

Wilhelm, who was released by the Chargers before the start of training camp and defensive end Jason Babin are working out for the team today but neither player has officially inked a deal yet.

Wilhelm, 26, was a fourth-round pick of the Chargers in 2003 out of Ohio State, and started 14 games in 2007 before splitting time as the starter at inside linebacker last season.

Scout.com's Adam Caplan had him rated as the best available inside linebacker available at this point but that's like being the tallest midget at the circus. He does, however, give the team a veteran option if Joe Mays and Omar Gaither both fall flat.
