Delaware's Omar Cuff named CAA Offensive Player of the Week

CAA Football announced the league’s first-ever Players of the Week on Monday and Delaware running back Omar Cuff won the offensive honor.

Cuff, the league’s first-ever Offensive Player of the Week, enjoyed a career night in the Blue Hens’ 49-31 win over William and Mary as part of The CAA Football Inaugural Game, Aug. 30.

The Landover, Md., native carried the ball 30 times for 244 yards and six touchdowns, while hauling in four passes for 52 yards and another score. Cuff’s seven touchdowns at the Tribe’s Zable Stadium tied an NCAA-FCS (formerly I-AA) record previously set twice -- most recently in 1998.

The senior also set Delaware school records for rushing touchdowns (6) and total touchdowns (7). Making it a truly monumental evening, Cuff’s rushing touchdowns (6), total touchdowns (7) and total points scored (42) also set new CAA Football Conference records.
